Extract data from an image

Writer: Learn2WorkLearn2Work

Have you ever been given data from an Excel table in image format and had to transcribe it one by one?

That's over! With Excel 365's new feature to get data from an image, you'll forget about transcribing data manually. Below I show you how to do it 👇👇👇

1. In your Excel workbook click Data > Get Data > From Other Sources > From a Picture > Picture from File :

2. Select the image file you want to extract data from and click 'Insert' :

3. A bar will appear on the right where you can see the image and the data that Excel extracted. Review the data to verify that the data extraction was correct. If any data is incorrect, modify it in the table below the image :

4. Click 'Insert Data' and that's it! Your data is now entered into Excel cells:

Take advantage of this feature to save time transcribing data when it is passed to you in image format, and become an Excel expert!
